Level 3 (DC fast charging)

High-power DC charging on road-trip networks, often 50–350 kW.

Level 3 — also called DC fast charging (DCFC) — sends direct current straight to the battery, skipping the onboard AC converter. Stations on highway corridors commonly deliver 50 to 350 kW.

Speed tapers as the battery fills and can drop sharply above 80% SOC. Fast sessions are best for adding range quickly on a trip, not for daily full charges.
