What is CCS?

CCS (Combined Charging System) extends the J1772 AC connector with two extra DC pins below it. One port handles both Level 2 AC and DC fast charging on most non-Tesla EVs sold in North America and Europe.

When you see a CCS station, the same handle can do slow AC or fast DC depending on what your car accepts.
